IOR maintains safety record and accreditations

Matt Young – IOR’s Health, Safety, Environmental & Training Manager is proud of IOR’s safety record over the last 12 months, in particular the decrease in the number of injuries that occurred from previous years.

The graphs below show a comparison of the injuries reported for years 2012 – 2013.

Injuries reported for years 2012 – 2013.

IOR is committed to ensuring all staff are provided the safest possible working environment with reassurance that they can return home safely to their families at the end of their shift/roster. Even though injuries were reported throughout both 2012 and 2013 it is pleasing to highlight that the severity of injuries did not result in any Lost Time Injuries (incapacity to return to work within the following shift).  IOR’s goal is to achieve zero injuries in the work place.

Matt stated “that from the time he commenced working at IOR Stewart and Ross have ensured that his first priority is the safety of our staff and our customers.”

One of Matt’s first tasks after commencing at IOR was to ensure that IOR’s safety procedures were amongst the best in the industry.  Matt undertook the rigorous process of having IOR’s HSEQ systems reviewed by an external party to ensure these systems would meet international standards for Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems.

In March 2013 IRO achieved triple certification in:

  • OHSAS 18001- HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
  • ISO 9001 – QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
  • ISO 14001  – ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

Since this initial approval process Matt has continued to improve and maintain our HSEQ systems resulting in recertification in all 3 standards in 2014.

This accreditation appears in all IOR documentation in the following format:
